How to install/uninstall and configure?
For Classic Edition, make sure that the version of BlackBerry Operating System installed on your device is no less than 4.3.0.1.
For Storm Edition make sure that the version of BlackBerry Operating System on your device is no less than 4.7.0.41.
Select Options > About to check this information. The screenshot below shows the underlined number of the Operating System version.
- Extract zip file with the Tbilisoft Reminder to a temporary location on your computer;
- Connect your Blackberry device to the computer;
- Start the RIM Desktop Manager and click on Application Loader;
- Select «Add/Remove Application» and browse to the location with the unzipped files;
- Select com_tbilisoft_reminder.alx to begin the installation.
An alternate way to install the product on your device is as follows:
- On your device run BlackBerry Browser;
- Navigate the address: http://www.tbilisoft.mobi
- Follow the instructions on the device screen to select the suitable edition
- Enable «Set application permissions» option before clicking on «Download» button.
Some devices may require manual reboot after the installation.
To update the product re-install it over the existing version. The registration key and all existing data will be re-used automatically. Do not uninstall the previous version as you may loose all the data you've already entered.
In some cases, your Blackberry Desktop software may report this message: «No additional applications designed for your device were found». This message means there is a mismatch between the version of Blackberry Desktop Software and the version of your handheld software. To resolve this issue, download and install the newest version of Blackberry Desktop Software from http://www.blackberry.com
The following dialog may appear on the device screen (click on «Yes»):
Once the application is installed, find the application icon on your device and launch the application. If it is necessary to setup permissions the application permissions request will appear (check the screenshot below).
Click on «View», open menu and select «Save»
As you will be noticed in displayed permissions list screen the application needs to access the phone logs to check if there is an active phone conversation and to decide if it will continue or not. Important reminders run even when you are talking on the phone. Regular reminders will wait until the conversation is over.
In case you get additional permission requests except of described above just accept the confirmation dialogs, check «Do not ask again» and press «Allow».
It is recommended to create a «dummy» reminder after the installation, set it to the current time, save and close it. This reminder will run just in one minute. Security confirmation dialogs may pop up before the reminder is displayed and when it is closed. Confirm all security dialogs when the reminder is going to run and it is going to be dismissed. In this case, all security settings will be set and saved automatically.
The following convenience keys are available for the Classic Edition of the application:
- To view/edit a list item - «Enter» key or trackball click;
- To remove a list item - «Del» key;
- To open color/icon selection screen - «Enter» or «Space» key or trackball click;
- To accept color/icon selection - «Enter» or «Space» key or trackball click;
- To change a value in the drop-down option fields - «Space» key or trackball click;
- Discard selection/choice - «Escape» key (also supported in Storm Edition);
- When you want to set the selection cursor on a particular list item, type a part of its title. The cursor will be set to the row with the nearest match to the typed string automatically.
To uninstall the application, select Options->Advanced Options->Applications (on old models, applications are listed under Options->Applications), select «Tbilisoft Reminder» from the list and select «Delete» from the menu.
